Eugene’s Diner & Bar to open week of Apr. 1

Good news! Chef David DiBari will be opening Eugene’s Diner & Bar at 112 North Main St. sometime during the week of Apr. 1 and possibly as early as Tuesday, Apr. 2.
Normally robust restaurant scenesuffering temporary setback

Usually I'm writing about all the great new restaurants opening in Port Chester and Rye Brook, most recently focusing on Saltaire and Café Mirage. Unfortunately in recent weeks more eateries have closed than opened, a sad sign for what had been a robust restaurant scene regularly experiencing turnover as every community does.

Café Mirage will be opening in a week or two at its new 223-225 Westchester Ave. location, according to co-owner Katy Haggerty, whom I spotted outside the building last week

On Sept. 12, Port Chester Hall at the train station changed its name to Heartland Black + Gold. With the name change came a light renovation removing the train theme and a new menu.
