  • Il Sogno and nessa reinvent themselves
The restaurant business isn't easy, and with so many eateries in Port Chester and Rye Brook, it's hard to compete. To keep their establishments fresh and interesting, sometimes restaurateurs need to make some changes. That's what's been happening lately in Port Chester.
  • Saltaire satisfies fish lovers
with tasty fare from the sea
We have been waiting with baited breath for Saltaire Oyster Bar and Fish House to open in Port Chester. It was only fitting that, after a four-year absence following the closure of F.I.S.H., a restaurant deriving its food from the sea should take up residence in a village with a ship on its seal and "port" in its name.
  • Saltaire, Café Mirage
& Panka opening soon
What is that restaurant taking the place of The Willett House again and when is it finally going to open? What about the former T&J Villaggio Trattoria? Is that space ever going to reopen as a new restaurant? These are a few of the questions I set out to answer in this month's restaurant recap.
  • Number of outdoor eating spots
in villages remains steady at 39
In the Northeast, outdoor eating is generally associated with summer, and this year we’ve been lucky to have many pleasant days, evenings and nights that have been conducive to dining outside—Sunday through Tuesday of the past week when we suffered a heatwave notwithstanding.
  • To further round out the Port Chester restaurant scene, a Thai eatery will eventually be coming to North Pearl Street.
  • Tiny French bistro fills a void
Port Chester has many ethnic restaurants representing cuisines from around the world. Still, there are several fares that are lacking. With the opening of a French bistro last month, food connoisseurs can cross one of those missing categories off the list.

  • Four new restaurants,
2 renovations in the works
If you eat out on any regular basis, you are anxious to know what new eateries are coming down the pike in Port Chester and Rye Brook or even if a longtime restaurant has gotten a facelift.
  • Fresh Italian food with a twist at cozy Piccolo Italian Gourmet
It didn't take long after the Italian coffee shop zeppoleme closed in January for another eatery to take its place. The bright, lovely space at 321 North Main St. reopened with a new kitchen and some cosmetic changes about a month ago as Piccolo Italian Gourmet.
  • Fun with flan
After two fun tasting experiences last winter-rating chili and dumplings-and a lull in the opening of new restaurants in town, this month our staff went out in search of the perfect flan.
  • Great Chefs 2015
Friday, Mar. 6 at Westchester Country Club
  • Fortina is the place to be
About a year after Racanelli's Pizzeria Restaurant closed its doors without notice, Fortina is bringing a whole new vibe and renewed energy to its former space at the Rye Ridge Shopping Center.
  • Craft cocktails, rare whiskeys and comfort food at Rye House
The long-awaited Rye House is finally open with its full menu in the impressive Stratmar building, long ago Zemo's men's store, at the corner of North Main Street and Willett Avenue. The beer, wine and cocktails are set, but the menu is still evolving.
  • Taqueria La Picardia: A cute spot for tacos and more
What originally started out as a gourmet burger joint quickly morphed into a restaurant serving Latin and American specialties.
  • 40 restaurants to choose from if you want to eat outside
In the Northeast, outdoor eating is generally associated with summer, and this year we've been lucky to have many pleasant days, evenings and nights that have been conducive to dining outside.
