Brandi Trattoria and Brandi Pizzeria are finally scheduled to open next week at 108 Abendroth Ave. and 23 North Main St., respectively.

A new general manager, Carlo Mariani, who said last week that he had only come on board two weeks before, reported that there would be a soft opening for both places on Tuesday, May 16.

The former location of Spadaro Ristorante, this space was originally targeted to open as Brandi on Jan. 9 under Michael Lodolce’s management. However, he is no longer in the picture.

Mariani previously worked as general manager at Cipriani as well as for the Fireman Group and Loews Regency Hotel, all in New York City. “This is my first time being in Port Chester,” he said. “I bring some of the New York life to Port Chester.”

Brandi Pizzeria is one of the oldest restaurants in Europe and inventor of the margherita pizza, dating back to 1760 with origins in Naples, Italy.

Brandi will include a full service Italian restaurant seating 60 in the dining room with a banquet room that holds another 65-70 on the Abendroth Avenue side and a small pizzeria accommodating 12 on the North Main Street side of the space, which stretches between the two parallel thoroughfares.

There will be outdoor eating for about 50 on the deck overlooking Abendroth.

The bar was moved to the opposite side of the restaurant and enlarged and a second pizza oven installed.
