Sydney Goldberg of Rye Brook has continued a tradition of giving she started two years ago.

In October 2012, as reported in this newspaper, Sydney donated a length of her hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Now, at 8 years old, she has once again given her locks to Pantene. With help from Stacy of Beauty Bar & Salon in Port Chester, Sydney had 11 inches of hair cut off to donate.

Sydney donated 9 inches of hair two years ago when she was 6. Her hair had gotten very long and, after a discussion about giving it to an organization that makes wigs for people who have lost their hair due to illness, she decided that donating her hair was what she wanted to do. Sydney was very excited to participate in such a great cause.

After donating her locks the first time, Sydney decided she wanted to do it again and therefore had not had her hair cut since. Last week she went back to Beauty Bar & Salon on Bowman Avenue and had 11 inches cut.

"She was beaming throughout her entire haircut," said her mother, Michele. "Part of that was the excitement of knowing she was donating her hair to such a worthy cause. Her father, Brian, and I are so proud of her for making such a mature andgenerous decision at such a young age."
