Rules for submitting a letter to the editor
The Westmore News encourages letters to the editor expressing your opinion on any local, regional or international issues or events that concern you. Letters must include your name and telephone number for verification purposes. Letters are due by Tuesday at noon. All letters related to an election are limited to 500 words. We do not accept letters relating to an election the week prior to that election. Throughout the year, no letters from the same person will be accepted two weeks in a row. The Westmore News reserves the right to edit or reject any letters.

Beautiful People : Kelly Gordon-Minott of the Carver Center
Known affectionately by her 200 kids as Miss Kelly, Kelly Gordon-Minott is singlehandedly changing the lives of Port Chester teens. Kelly goes above and beyond her position as Carver Center Teen Center manager, and her generosity of spirit is an inspiration to us all. Here are just a few of the community service programs she runs:

From the Editor: Re-elect Dreves, elect Wolff to Port Chester school board
What a difference three years make! When Jim Dreves was last up for reelection, it was the first year of the state-imposed tax levy cap and a very difficult one for the Port Chester school district budget-wise. There was the very real possibility of having to go to half-day kindergarten, but in the end the district got some concessions on health benefits, eliminated reading teachers and closed the science lab at Kennedy School.
