Mary Summa, 101, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Jan. 14, 2019.

She was born May 22, 1917 in Port Chester to Vincent and Maria Lafaro Legato who predeceased her.

She graduated from Port Chester High School in 1935 and was married Sept. 10, 1939 at Holy Rosary Church to Joseph D. "Pepe" Summa who died Jan. 24, 1990.

Mrs. Summa was a production manager for Kay Chester Dress Company in Port Chester and was with the company for 50 years until her retirement in 1985.

She went on to work for 10 years at the Osborn Home in Rye as a seamstress.

She was a past president of the Horton School PTA.

She is survived by her sons Paul J. Summa and wife Nancy of Brookfield, Ct. and Vincent D. Summa and wife Joyce of Ridgefield, Ct.; grandchildren Maria Lutinski (Eric), Joseph Summa (Beverly), Jennifer Bittner (Eric) and Christopher Summa and great-grandchildren Alyssa, Kyle, Amanda, Becca, Gia, Joseph, Nicoletta and Noah.

Mrs. Summa was predeceased by her sisters Antoinette Rinello, Jenny Cavalea and Josephine Vaccaro.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be Fri., Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul RC Church, 84 Sherwood Ave., Greenwich, with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
