Letter: Make sure you vote for positive change
March 7, 2019 at 8:07 a.m.
I’m writing regarding the upcoming election on Mar. 19. I’ve lived in Port Chester basically my entire life, and in that time, I found that this village is incredibly resistant to change. I think this place sorely needs a positive change. So, first of all, go out and vote. I am a firm believer in you can’t complain if you didn’t do your part to make a difference. It does matter, your vote does count. To quote one of my favorite shows, The West Wing, in which they changed a campaign sign from “It doesn’t matter who you vote for, make sure you vote” to “No matter who you vote for, make sure you vote.”
It does greatly matter who you vote for. What do you want the Board to bring to PC? I would like some positive change, which is why I am casting all six of my votes for Joan Grangenois-Thomas. If you don’t know about this dedicated woman, please get to know her before Mar. 19. She is having a meet and greet at Acuario Restaurant (yum) on Mar. 12 from 7-9 p.m. She cares about the community she has lived in for 30 years, is educated on the issues that PC faces today, and is ready to make a change. Not to mention she is the only female running, another perspective I think the Board of Trustees would benefit from. I think Joan could be the breath of fresh air this village, and Board, so badly need.
