The 4th Annual Nick Ciccone-Pete Sinis Memorial High School Basketball Tournament at the old CYP gym on Washington Street in Port Chester will begin Friday, Mar. 29 with two games, the first at 7 p.m. and the second at 8:15 p.m.

The tournament will run through Monday, Apr. 1 with two games a night on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, finishing with the championship Monday night at 7 p.m.

The tournament consists of the top high school players coming from New Jersey, Connecticut and all over New York and is rich in history, running for over 70 years. Four years ago, the tournament changed names but is as exciting as ever. At least 50 recent participants could be seen this year in the NCAA March Madness including Iona’s Ricky McGill, Purdue’s Aaron Wheeler, Minnesota’s Isaiah Washington and Louisville’s Steve Enoch, to name a few.

“We have seen our fair share of NBA All-Star talent as well, including in recent years Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz, Hassan Whiteside, Miami Heat, and the Celtics’ Kylie Irvin,” according to a Team Triple Threat basketball coach.

The eight teams in this year’s tournament will be Connecticut Select, High Major, Early Risers, NY Falcons, Jadakiss Elite, Riverside Hawks, NY Gauchos and defending champs Northeast Basketball Club. Players already committed to Clemson, Xavier, Butler, West Point, St. Bonaventure, Louisville, and Wichita State are expected to play, and that’s just on one team!
