Letter: Vote for my mom for P.C. school board

May 2, 2019 at 11:16 a.m.

I am a proud 2014 graduate of Port Chester High School and 2018 graduate of Marist College, but I didn’t get there without the love, support and influence of my family. My mom, Chrissie Onofrio, came into my life when I was 9 years old and along with my mother, we became a family.

Over the past 15 years my mom Chrissie has taught my three younger sisters and I how to be strong, intelligent women. She consistently leads by example and shows us hard work pays off. I have seen my mom be a fierce advocate for all of her children and her own students as well. She is a great listener and able to bring people together. Throughout my childhood and now my sisters’, my mom has always been the person to step up, volunteer and lend a hand for whatever was needed. My sisters and I have been raised to treat everyone with kindness, acceptance and respect.

I wasn’t surprised when my mom talked to us about running for the Board of Education. She has already devoted a great deal of time to help make changes and improvements for our schools. As PCHS graduates, we both share our pride in our school district, and I can’t think of a better candidate to keep our schools moving forward. She will be honest, dependable and fair for everyone. Please join me in voting for my mom, Chrissie Onofrio, on May 21.
