At around 7 a.m. on Monday, May 20, Port Chester Fire Department volunteers were dispatched to 202 S. Regent St. to help when a commercial alarm went off, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
Shortly after they were dispatched, the department received several calls reporting the same incident at the bakery. Facebook indicates it was an oven fire. When firefighters arrived, they were met with heavy smoke in the rear of the building before they made an aggressive attack to control the fire.
Passersby of the scene have reported seeing employees standing outside the bakery for several hours.
