Michael Guerrero and Alan Novoa of the Port Chester Police Department and Amber Meagher of the Rye Brook Police Department were among the 61 recruits who graduated May 26 from the Westchester County Police Academy and headed off to work at 19 law enforcement agencies in Westchester and beyond. The new officers completed 21 weeks of training at the police academy in Valhalla and received their diplomas before a packed house at the Purchase College Performing Arts Center.
Brayan Mendez Membreno of Port Chester has been named to the Dean’s List at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. for academic excellence for the 2023 spring semester. He has a primary major of Sports Biology.
Aldo Neto of Port Chester, assigned to Company C, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, received a promotion Mar. 11, 2023 to the rank of sergeant. His promotion, in recognition of his capability for additional responsibility and leadership, was announced by Major General Ray Shields, the adjutant general for the State of New York. Army National Guard promotions are based on a soldier's overall performance, demonstrated leadership abilities, professionalism and future development potential. These promotions recognize the best qualified soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard.
The next Port Chester High School Marching Band bottle and can recycling collection will be Sun., June 4, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., in the Middle School parking lot on Bowman Avenue, Rye Brook. The Parking Office window at the County Center, 198 Central Ave., White Plains, has reinstated the MetroCard refill machine and the sales of individual MetroCards and ParaTransit ticket books. The Manhattanville College School of Nursing and Health Sciences Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program has received accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The accreditation followed a rigorous review process by CCNE, a national accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education tasked with assessing the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing.
