Anthony J. Sciandra III: Landscape company owner

Anthony J. Sciandra III, 69, a resident of West Harrison and formerly of Port Chester, died Nov. 11, 2023.

He was born Sept. 23, 1954 in Port Chester to Anthony Sciandra, Jr. and Rose Paterno Sciandra who predeceased him.

Mr. Sciandra was raised and educated in Port Chester, graduating from Port Chester High School in 1972. He went on to graduate from Cornell University with a degree in horticulture.

He was married to Sandra Penirelli Sept. 17, 1993 in White Plains.

He was the owner of Landscape Management Systems in West Harrison and was a parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in West Harrison.

He is survived by his loving family: wife Sandy Sciandra of West Harrison, children Laura Simpson (Tony) of Ridgefield, Conn., Michaela Sciandra of Greenwich, Conn., A.J. Sciandra IV (Samantha) of Danbury, Conn., Michael Casarella (Katie) of Pound Ridge and Danny Casarella (Ann) of Monroe, Conn.; his beloved grandchildren: Aiden Casarella, Graham Simpson, Charlotte Simpson, Anthony John Sciandra V and Angelo Casarella; his sisters Kathi Walker (Steve) of Culpeper, Va. and Christine Sciandra of Rye Brook and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anthony had a passion for lifeā€”he enjoyed fishing and playing golf; most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who brought such love and joy to his life.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 at Saint Paul RC Church, 84 Sherwood Ave., Greenwich, Conn., with interment following at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook.

Donations in memory of Mr. Sciandra may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
