Angelo S. Pignataro: Master electrician and carpenter

Angelo S. Pignataro, 91, of Sarasota, Fla., died Oct. 29, 2023.

He was born in Greenwich, Conn. on Sept. 25, 1932 to Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Pignataro, was raised in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School.

After marriage, he resided in Greenwich with his wife Joanna where they raised their five children.

Mr. Pignataro was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War on several carriers: USS Kula Gulf, USS Midway and USS WASP as an Electrician's Mate 3rd Class.

He became a master electrician by trade (residential and commercial), as well as a master of carpentry, cabinet work and fine woodworking.

He was a devout Catholic, a beloved father and grandfather who was generous with lending his talented gifts to those he knew throughout his life.

He spent his retirement residing in Sarasota, Fla., living life to the fullest.

He enjoyed traveling the world, golfing, gardening and mastering mathematical geometric woodworking designs to create handcrafted wood furniture and decorative gifts for his friends and family. He enjoyed listening and dancing to big band music, which he defined as the best music of any generation, with his friends in Sarasota.

He was predeceased by his wife Joanna Carmela Pignataro of Port Chester and his sister Mary LiMarzi.

Mr. Pignataro is survived by his children: Annette Bouton (Thomas), Susan DiPalma (Pasquale), Lisa Pignataro, Angela Smith (Edward) and John Pignataro (Christine); by his grandchildren: Alyssa, Wendy, Justin, Georgann, Zachary, and Sophie and his sister Jeanette Algiere.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. prior to the service at 10 a.m., Wed., Dec. 6 at Corpus Christi Church, 136 S. Regent St., Port Chester; burial will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
