The man who robbed the Chase Bank on North Main Street on Monday morning, Dec. 22 was wearing a tan jacket and dark-colored hat. Contact the Port Chester detective bureau at 939-1000 with any information.
A man stole about $1,700 from the Chase Bank at 122 North Main St. on Monday morning, Dec. 22.
The man, who was African America, thin and between the ages of 25 and 35, entered the bank and passed a note to the teller announcing a robbery. The man, who had on a tan jacket and a dark-colored knit cap, fled the bank on foot with about $1,700 in U.S. currency. Port Chester police quickly responded to an alarm that sounded at the bank at 9:17 a.m., according to Chief Richard Conway.
The village police, along with assistance from the MTA police and Rye police searched the area, including a walk-through of a Metro-North train heading from Port Chester towards New York City. "That met with negative results," Conway said. The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Port Chester detective bureau at 939-1000.
