    Warren Buffet is known as the Oracle of Omaha in investment circles. Orhan Eski proved to be the Oracle of Port Chester High School when he won the Entrepreneurship Club’s Stock Market Challenge. He outperformed his fellow club members and the S&P 500 in a stock simulation that ran from November to May.

    John Ramirez of Rye Brook, a student at Blind Brook High School, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Westchester Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America at its annual Blair & Anita Mazin College Scholarship Award ceremony at the Irvington Public Library.

    Laura D’Estrada began knitting shawls for patients as a way to cope with the stress of having her seriously ill husband at Greenwich Hospital. Nine years later, D’Estrada is still knitting shawls as a volunteer.
