Congratulations to Zachary Taylor of Port Chester who received a B.A. in history at the 149th commencement of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine May 31. While at Bates, he played varsity football and competed on the alpine ski team. He will be attending Pace Law School in the fall.

Stephanie Sng Lim of Rye Brook received her Juris Doctor degree from Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in May. She successfully concluded a year as Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law and was awarded the Jacob Burns Medal for significant contributions to the law school's academic community.

Christopher Sng Lim of Rye Brook has been awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship that will assist in the completion of his doctoral research at the Yale University Graduate School of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. The awards provide a $34,000 annual stipend and $12,000 cost-of-education allowance to the graduate institution for three years.

Drew Berger of Rye Brook was named to the Dean's List at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. for the Spring 2015 semester. Dean's List status is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly scheduled graded courses.

Calvin Zachary Bonner of Port Chester received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans.

The County Board of Legislators unanimously voted on June 1 to update smoke free site laws to include electronic cigarettes and other nicotine delivery devices. The smoke free workplace law prohibits smoking in dining areas of all restaurants including bars and bar areas. The secondary goal of this legislation is to reduce the appeal of these products to children and teens. The legislation will go into effect immediately and will be enforced by the County's Department of Health.
