The newly merged Benchmark Resorts & Hotels and Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, recognized global leaders in the management and marketing of resorts, hotels and conference centers, have formally announced the appointment of Mike McNeill as the new general manager for Doral Arrowwood in Rye Brook, replacing Steve Mabus.

“It is indeed a pleasure to have Mike lead Doral Arrowwood,” said Co-President Greg Champion. “He has brought with him a tremendous knowledge of the resort’s market opportunities for all business segments, in addition to broad hospitality operational experience. This is a return to Benchmark for Mike, who is well versed in our company’s signature ‘Be The Difference’ guest service culture.”

McNeill was previously managing director for Dolce Norwalk of Norwalk, Conn. At the same time, he held regional responsibilities overseeing Dolce Palisades in Palisades, N.Y., Dolce Basking Ridge of Basking Ridge, N.J., which Benchmark had earlier repositioned to an open-market property, and Wyndham Hamilton Park located in Florham Park, N.J.

His new position represents a return to Benchmark for McNeill. Earlier in his career he held director of rooms and director of human resources positions for Benchmark properties in Virginia and California.

McNeil is a graduate of California State University-Chico.

He and his family reside in Ridgefield, Conn.
