PCHS teacher honored for academic achievement

Joseph Gilson
Joseph Gilson, a history teacher at Port Chester High School, was awarded the Sister Regina Rosaire Dolan Award by St. Thomas Aquinas College. This award is conferred annually to the student with the highest academic achievement in the School of Education graduate program.
Gilson, who graduated the master's program with a 4.0 GPA, received the recognition on Friday, May 8 at the college commencement ceremony where he also was granted a Master of Science in Teaching degree. In addition to his master's degree studies, he has been working towards a certification in Students with Disabilities Multi-Subject 7-12.
Gilson has been a teacher at Port Chester High School since September 2014. This year he taught courses in Global History 1 and Global History 1 Honors.
