The Salvation Army is pleased to honor Daniel Colangelo and Nick Mecca for their years of service in the Port Chester and Town of Rye community. Both honorees are lifelong residents of Port Chester and actively serve others through various roles and community group memberships. The honorees will be acknowledged at the 2019 Annual Community Awards Brunch hosted by The Salvation Army on Saturday, Apr. 27 at 10 a.m. at their 36 Bush Ave. location in Port Chester.

Captain Margaret and Lieutenant Jonathan Quatela, Corps officers/pastors of The Salvation Army, invite the community to support the event as the funds raised through tickets and journal ads help support the work and ministry they do in Port Chester.

“We are very excited for this event,” said Captain Quatela “Every year we have such a beautiful time of acknowledging those who love the people in our community while showcasing some of the ways The Salvation Army is reaching out to those in need.”

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in London in 1865, finding roots in Port Chester in 1886, has been supporting those in need in Jesus’s name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States.

The Bush Avenue location provides families with food and clothing assistance, seasonal food and toys, free children’s music lessons, programs for men, women and children, summer camp as well as regular Sunday worship services.

“We serve the community without discrimination for a higher purpose and invite community members to support us as we continue into the future,” said Captain Quatela.

Tickets for the event are $20 each and are available by calling 914-939-2725, Ext. 225 or at 36 Bush Ave. If you are interested in purchasing an ad for business promotion or to congratulate an honoree for the events journal, please call the number above.
