The Port Chester-Rye Brook Library Film Club has announced that their next virtual session via Zoom will be Wed., Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. The film will be “The War of the Worlds.” Scientists Clayton Forrester and Sylvia Van Buren are the first to arrive at the site of a meteor crash. An alien war machine emerges from the site and Forrester and Van Buren wound one of the creatures and procure a sample of its blood. They take it to Los Angeles where they hope, through testing, to discover the aliens’ weakness. Please watch the film on your own before the session. A limited number of copies are available at the library. The film is also available for streaming on Paramount+ and Amazon Prime. Email [email protected] for the Zoom link.
The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library will offer English classes with Westchester Community College virtually Tues.-Thurs., Feb. 15-Apr. 19, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Level 3 & 4. Placement exam will be Wed., Feb. 7 at 9 a.m.; and Tues.-Thurs., Feb. 15-Apr. 18, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Level 3 & 4.
