Playland Park in Rye 2023 schedule: Fridays in July: 12-9 p.m., Saturdays in July: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sundays in July, 12-9 p.m.; Tues.-Thurs. in July: 12-9 p.m. Beach & pool hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Playland is closed Mondays. There will be fireworks Sept. 3 at 9:15 p.m. At the scenic onsite Playland Beach, recently reopening for the first time since 2021, guests can enjoy melodic tunes by steel drum bands every weekend this season, along with a new 35-foot waterfront slide, beach volleyball, lounge chairs and shade umbrellas available for rent, and kayak rentals right on the beach. The first All-Inflatable Pop-Up Waterpark will make its debut splash at Cross County Summer Fest in the North Parking Lot across from Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse, Yonkers, thru July 16. The waterpark features over 15 inflatable slides and 75 inflatable attractions located in three sections. Summer Camps & Programs

Registration is open for Hilltop Hanover Farm’s Summer Programming for Children. The farm at 1271 Hanover St., Yorktown Heights offers children the chance to have fun and learn about gardening, sustainable and organic planting practices, taste their harvest and more at the variety of summer programming. Programs include weekly, bi-weekly and daily sessions through August:

Farm Team: Aspiring young farmers will learn how to work outdoors in the fields, weeding, watering, harvesting, and caring for vegetables. For ages six and up.

Tiny Farmers: Meet the animals, play with seeds, discover new plants and taste fresh produce, get creative with flowers and herbs, and explore the forest trails. For ages five and under and their caregivers.

Kids Farm to Table: Learn the relationship between real food and lifelong nutrition and health, and discuss the impacts of sustainable and organic practices, harvest ingredients together, and prepare a seasonal lunch. For ages five and up.

August Camp:  Kids will explore the forest spaces, the growing spaces, meet the animals, play games, get dirty, plant seeds, pull weeds, and enjoy being outdoors in the best time of year! For ages six and up.

Summer Camps at The Picture House in both Pelham and Bronxville will begin July 31 featuring Documentary Intensive for High School Students, July 31-Aug. 411 a.m.-4 p.m. $500 for non-members; Green Screen Camp for Middle School, July 31-Aug. 4; July 7-11 (Bronxville), 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Registration is available for one or both weeks. $900 non-members for 2 weeks; $500 for 1 week; Page to Screen for K-8, Aug. 7-11; Aug. 14-18 (Pelham) and Aug. 14-18; Aug. 21-28 (Bronxville), 9 a.m.-2 p.m. $900 for 2 weeks non-members; $500 for 1 week. The films made at camp will premiere at the Student Showcase—a special red carpet event in the fall., where filmmakers get to see their work on the big screen. Westchester County’s Learn to Swim Program for children ages 3-14 is open for registration. New this year are sessions for adults beginning at age 15. The program will take place at all four county-owned pools—Saxon Woods in White Plains, Sprain Ridge and Tibbetts Brook, both in Yonkers. A later date will be announced for registration at Willson’s Woods in Mt. Vernon. Learn to Swim for children will be held Tues., July 25-Thurs. Aug. 10Class times are 9-9:50 a.m. and 9:55-10:15 a.m. for both sessions. Westchester County Sports Camp enrollment for Slam Dunk Basketball Camp, HEAT Baseball Camp and Hole-in-One Jr. Golf Camp are open now. Slam Dunk Basketball Camp will be held at Westchester County Center for children entering grades 3-9 as of Sept. 2023. Four week-long sessions run Mon.-Fri., thru Aug. 11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. $375 per camper per session (includes lunch). HEAT Baseball Camp for children ages 8-15 as of May 1, 2023 will be held at VF Macy Park, Ardsley. Four-week sessions run Mon.-Fri., thru Aug. 4, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. $300 per camper per session. Hole-in-One Junior Golf Camp will be held at all six Westchester County golf courses for campers ages 10-17. Two-week sessions at Dunwoodie and Sprain Lake, Yonkers; Hudson Hills, Ossining, Maple Moor, White Plains; Mohansic, Yorktown Heights and Saxon Woods, Scarsdale will run Mon., July 17-Fri., Aug. 3. Rye Arts Center at 51 Milton Road has announced that registration is open for their Summer Musical Theater for ages 8-13. Friends of Rye Nature Center’s online registration is open for their Summer Program. At this time, they are limiting registration to four weeks per child for day camp and three weeks for Paddle Adventure Camp. Full payment due upon registration. Summer Day Camp includes Explorers (preschool and K), Discoverers (grades K-5) and Naturalists in Training (grades 6 & 7). Paddle Adventure Camp is for campers entering grades 8, 9 or 10 and runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fee for Explorers is $425; for Discoverers fee is $450; for NIT fee is $495 and for Paddle Adventure Camp fee is $600.
