A New Summer Art Installation: The Bulldog Walking Gallery 2023 is on view on Main Street and Bridge Street in Irvington thru Sept. It features bulldogs which have long been the mascot of Irvington. They signify strength and courage, especially among its sports teams. The new art installation pays tribute to the village’s beloved mascot this summer.

Chill Bucket Productions is calling for film submissions for its 2nd Below the Line Film Festival. Submissions will be accepted thru Aug. 1 with an extended deadline of Aug. 22. Pelham Art Center at 155 Fifth Ave. is displaying a new public art installation, “The Conversation Sculpture” by Brooklyn artist Musa Hixson. It is a 9 ft. x 6 ft. x 6 ft. steel sculpture that mimics a blooming flower with three seats enclosed in its frame. The interactive piece intends to facilitate new connections and encourage people to think differently about public space. The installation will be on display thru June 20. www.pelhamartcenter.org

Summer Camps & Programs

HEAT Baseball Camp will be offered by Westchester County Parks at V.E. Macy Park in Ardsley this summer. Session 1: July 10-14; Session 2: July 17-21: Session 3: July 24-28 and Session 4: July 31-Aug. 8. Sessions run 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Players must be 8-13 years old as of May 1, 2023. Players will be divided into two groups by age—8-11 and 12-15. HEAT Basketball Camp will cover all areas of the game including fielding, pitching, hitting, base running, strength and conditioning, game situations and baseball IQ. $325 per camper per week. Westchester County’s Learn to Swim Program for children ages 3-14 is open for registration. New this year are sessions for adults beginning at age 15. The program will take place at all four county-owned pools—Saxon Woods in White Plains, Sprain Ridge and Tibbetts Brook, both in Yonkers. A later date will be announced for registration at Willson’s Woods in Mt. Vernon. Learn to Swim for children will be held in two sessions—Tues.-Thurs., with Session 1 Mon., July 3 (no class Thurs., July 4)-Thurs., July 20. Session 2 will run Tues., July 25-Thurs. Aug. 10. Class times are 9-9:50 a.m. and 9:55-10:15 a.m. for both sessions. Learn to Swim for ages 15 & older will be held in two sessions—Sat. & Sun., Sat., July 8-Sun., July 23 and Sat., July 29-Aug. 13. Westchester County Sports Camp enrollment for Slam Dunk Basketball Camp, JustinTime Baseball Summer Camp, HEAT Baseball Camp and Hole-in-One Jr. Golf Camp are open now. Slam Dunk Basketball Camp will be held at Westchester County Center for children entering grades 3-9 as of Sept. 2023.
