The Greenwich St. Patrick’s Day Parade, presented by the Greenwich Hibernian Association, will be held Sun., Mar. 19 at 2 p.m. beginning at Greenwich Town Hall. The parade will be led by Grand Marshall Kevin McFadden of Port Chester. There will be seven Bagpipe Bands included in the 11 total bands: Greenwich Pipe Band, Fairfield County Police Pipes and Drums, Westchester Firefighters Pipes and Drums, Essex County Emerald Society Pipe Band, Pyramid Shriners Pipes & Drums, Pelham Regional Pipe Band, Celtic Cross Pipes and Drums, Port Chester High School Marching Band, Tappan Zee Bridgemen, Nash Drum Corps and Wholly Brass Band. Pelham Art Center at 155 Fifth Ave. is displaying a new public art installation, “The Conversation Sculpture” by Brooklyn artist Musa Hixson. It is a 9 ft. x 6 ft. x 6 ft. steel sculpture that mimics a blooming flower with three seats enclosed in its frame. Westchester County’s Learn to Swim Program for children ages 3-14 is open for registration. New this year are sessions for adults beginning at age 15. The program will take place at all four county-owned pools—Saxon Woods in White Plains, Sprain Ridge and Tibbetts Brook, both in Yonkers. A later date will be announced for registration at Willson’s Woods in Mt. Vernon. Learn to Swim for children will be held in two sessions—Tues.-Thurs., with Session 1 Mon., July 3 (no class Thurs., July 4)-Thurs., July 20. Session 2 will run Tues., July 25-Thurs. Aug. 10. Class times are 9-9:50 a.m. and 9:55-10:15 a.m. for both sessions. Learn to Swim for ages 15 & older will be held in two sessions—Sat. & Sun., Sat., July 8-Sun., July 23 and Sat., July 29-Aug. 13.
