The Village of Port Chester will present Port Chester Grandpas United Grand Opening & Recruitment Fri., Mar. 24, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Port Chester Senior Center, 222 Grace Church St. Grandpas United, a program of the Port Chester Youth Bureau, seeks to recruit new mentors for local youth. Community members who are grandpas in their own families are encouraged to join this free information session and learn more about how this program works to guide and assist at-risk youth in our community who may not have the gift of a grandfather in their life. Camps & Summer Programs

Rye Brook Recreation has announced that signups are taking place now for Summer Day Camp for boys and girls entering K-6th grade and Teen Travel Camp for boys and girls entering 7th-10th grade. Camps run July 3-Aug 11, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The Early Bird 6-week discounted rate ends Apr. 30. Day Camp fees: $1,000 for 1st child ($1150 after Apr. 30). $800 each additional child ($900 after Apr. 30); Travel Camp fees: $1,800 each child ($1,900 after Apr. 30). Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester will offer weekly themed half & full day Summer Camps for children & teens ages 7-15 June 26-Aug. 18. Campers will be shown a variety of techniques on and off the wheel. Camps for ages 7-11 will focus on handbuilding and sculpture; camps for ages 12-15 will focus on wheel throwing and handbuilding. Sample camps include Wheel and Beyond, Surface Design Time, Candy Crush, Amazing Animals, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Ancient Architects and many more. In the classroom, aspiring young artists will develop their imagination and build confidence while working in the transformational medium of clay. Morning camp (9 a.m.-12 p.m.) and Afternoon camp (1-4 p.m.) are $310/week; Full-day camp (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) is $515/week. Early bird drop-off options are available. Registration is open online.
