Earth Week: Help Beautify the Senior Center was postponed from Apr. 29 due to rainy weather. It will take place Sun., May 7 from 9-11 a.m. Bring your entire family and come out to celebrate Earth Week with the Village of Rye Brook and the Town of Rye to beautify the Rye Brook Senior Center at 32 Garibaldi Place with new pollinator plantings. Beginners and experienced gardeners are all welcome to participate. Please register at townofrye.seamlessdocs.com/f/CommunitySignUp. Walk-ins are also welcome but will be asked to register at the check-in desk. Community service credits apply. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. 2023 Community Planting & Cleanup Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Crawford Park, 122 N. Ridge St. Park in the parking lot.

Rye Arts Center will host Studio 51: Party with a Purpose Sat., May 13, 7-10 p.m. at Garcia’s, 145 Westchester Ave., Port Chester. Garcia’s will be transformed into RAC Studio 51, their version of the iconic 70’s nightclub and an homage to their beloved building at 51 Milton Rd., Rye. Enjoy spectacular food, drink and music as well as interactive art studios, all while honoring three women who have made an impact on the Rye community—Sue Autry, Anne Fumasoli and Amy Vijayanagar. The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library, 1 Haseco Ave. will offer a Beading and Jewelry Making Program for Teens and Adults, Tues., May 9, 3:30-4:30 p.m. and Tues., May 16, 3:30-5 p.m. Create beaded bracelets, rings, keychains and earrings. At the May 16 session, for each pair of earrings made, another pair will be made to donate to a women’s shelter. Light refreshments will be served at each session. Limited registration. Rye Brook Recreation has announced that signups are taking place now for Summer Day Camp for boys and girls entering K-6th grade and Teen Travel Camp for boys and girls entering 7th-10th grade. Camps run July 3-Aug 11, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The Early Bird 6-week discounted rate ends Apr. 30. Day Camp fees: $1,000 for 1st child ($1150 after Apr. 30). $800 each additional child ($900 after Apr. 30); Travel Camp fees: $1,800 each child ($1,900 after Apr. 30). Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester will offer weekly themed half & full day Summer Camps for children & teens ages 7-15 June 26-Aug. 18. Campers will be shown a variety of techniques on and off the wheel. Camps for ages 7-11 will focus on handbuilding and sculpture; camps for ages 12-15 will focus on wheel throwing and handbuilding. Sample camps include Wheel and Beyond, Surface Design Time, Candy Crush, Amazing Animals, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Ancient Architects and many more. In the classroom, aspiring young artists will develop their imagination and build confidence while working in the transformational medium of clay. Ice Cream Social in Port Chester will present The Body’s Guest, a pop-up exhibition hosted at Studio 9D at 508 W. 26th St., NYC Mon.-Sun., May 8-14, 12-6 p.m. There will be an opening reception Thurs., May 11, 7-9 p.m. Exhibit explores both problematic and necessary modes of multiplicity within the self. The small group show includes painting, assemblage, sculpture, fiber work and analog + digital drawings.
