Sat., May 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Rochambeau Park/Yorktown Grange, 99 Mamaroneck Rd., Yorktown Heights, the Yorktown Heritage Preservation Commission/Yorktown 250 in partnership with the Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary Route Association and the Yorktown Grange will commemorate the role that French General Count de Rochambeau and the French Army played in aiding General Washington and the Continental Army in the fight for freedom from British rule. Visitors will be able to discuss with a Rochambeau national scholar, French dignitaries and living history teachers the French army’s role in winning our independence. Pelham Art Center at 155 Fifth Ave. is displaying a new public art installation, “The Conversation Sculpture” by Brooklyn artist Musa Hixson. HEAT Baseball Camp will be offered by Westchester County Parks at V.E. Macy Park in Ardsley this summer. Session 1: July 10-14; Session 2: July 17-21: Session 3: July 24-28 and Session 4: July 31-Aug. 8. Sessions run 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Players must be 8-13 years old as of May 1, 2023. Players will be divided into two groups by age—8-11 and 12-15. HEAT Basketball Camp will cover all areas of the game including fielding, pitching, hitting, base running, strength and conditioning, game situations and baseball IQ. Westchester County’s Learn to Swim Program for children ages 3-14 is open for registration. New this year are sessions for adults beginning at age 15.
