Carmela ‘Carrie’ Catalano: Retired Bantam Toys office manager

Carmela "Carrie" Catalano, 85, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died peacefully Dec. 24, 2018.

She was born May 6, 1933 in Port Chester to Canio and Maria Summa Vaccaro who predeceased her.

She was raised and educated in Port Chester, graduating from Port Chester High School in 1951.

She was an office manager at Bantam US Toys for 33 years and was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, both in Port Chester.

Mrs. Catalano was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Domenick "Mimi" Catalano of Port Chester, daughter Donna Mecca of Stamford, Ct., granddaughters Stephanie Mecca and Michelle Mecca, both of Stamford, and great-granddaughter Ariiyah Mecca-Sawyer.

She was predeceased by her brothers Salvatore, John, Anthony "Ty" and William Vaccaro and sisters Mae Varbero and Gertrude "Trudy" Latella.

Visitation will be 8:30-10:30 a.m. Fri., Dec. 28 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc., 40 Leicester St., Port Chester.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Saint Paul RC Church, 84 Sherwood Ave., Greenwich, Ct.

Interment is private.
