Isabella Maida, 85, a resident of Port Chester, died July 13, 2018.
She was born May 17, 1933 in Calimera, Calabria, Italy to Pasquale and Domenica Castagna Barletta who predeceased her and was raised and educated in Harrison.
Mrs. Maida was the widow of Anthony F. Maida, Sr. who died July 1, 2012.
She was an office assistant at Homelite Corp. in Greenwich, Conn. where she met her future husband.
After raising her family, she went back to work at Aero Hardware in Rye.
Mrs. Maida was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.
She was a great cook and loved to sing, dance and act and enjoyed watching old movies.
She had a lively personality and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In her younger days she enjoyed card games with her friends and sisters and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her devoted children, Anthony Maida, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Port Chester, Gregory Maida of Port Chester and Elizabeth Zaccherio and her husband Peter of River Vale, N.J.; beloved grandchildren Laura and Rebecca Maida and Lyle and Lance Zaccherio, brother Pasquale "Pat" Barletta, Jr. and sister Antoinette Tiberi, both of Danbury, Conn.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brother Francesco Barletta and sisters Nancy DiBuono and Grace Marcucilli.
Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Maida may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
