Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday, Apr. 6, New York schools will remain closed until at least Apr. 29 as the fight to slow the rapid spread of COVID-19 continues.
Blind Brook and Port Chester schools will continue to practice distance learning from students’ households.
“As (Cuomo) declared in making the announcement, it is critically important that we all continue with social distancing practices and taking all other necessary measures to prevent getting infected with this virus and minimizing its spread,” Blind Brook Board of Education President Ryan Goldstein stated in an update the same day.
Additionally, Board of Regents Chancellor Betty Rosa announced June 2020 Regents exams have been cancelled.
Regents credit will be presented to students through completion of their high school courses. Exemptions will be granted for students in need of the exam credit to graduate.
