County unveils COVID-19 dashboard

December 24, 2020 at 4:55 a.m.

On Wednesday, Dec. 23, County Executive George Latimer unveiled Westchester’s new COVID-19 dashboard.

“This codifies data we receive from New York State,” Latimer stated in a County press release. “We are trying, and have proven over an extended period of time, that we intended to do the things we say we are going to do. When we say that we are going to try to give you information in a more transparent and accessible way—this is an example of how we deliver it.”

The new system showcases an interactive map that displays active cases in each municipality, including the cumulative number of cases in an area and cluster zones throughout the county.

The numbers are updated throughout the day. To view the database, visit https://wcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/280339d96db14efd9cc304dba0f3a71d. This new information vehicle comes after the county was unable to provide the latest number of cases due to technology glitches for a week.

In Port Chester, according to the dashboard, there are 324 active cases of the novel coronavirus for a cumulative total of 2,682 cases. In Rye Brook, there are 96 active cases of the virus making for a total of 494 cases.

The Blind Brook School District, which is utilizing a hybrid learning model, has also developed its own COVID-19 dashboard to monitor its infections. As of Sunday, Dec. 20, there was one active case at Ridge Street Elementary School, three actives cases at the middle school and one at the district level. Since Nov. 29, there have been seven total cases at Ridge Street School, nine cases at BBMS, seven cases at Blind Brook High School and one case in the district office.
