The number of active COVID-19 cases within Port Chester slightly increased this week. As of Wednesday, July 1, the Village had a total of 18 cases—an increase of three since last week—for a cumulative count of 1,250.

In Rye Brook, the number of active cases remains at two for the third week in a row. The Village has had a total of 180 cases.

The number of active cases in New York remains low as states across the country are beginning to experience a spike. At press time, there had been a total of over 398,000 cases of the virus in the state, with Westchester making up almost 35,000 of them.

Next Tuesday, July 7, the Mid-Hudson region is slated to enter Phase 4 of the state’s reopening plan. Higher education, low-risk outdoor and indoor arts and entertainment, media production and professional sports games with no audience can resume.
