June 4, 2020 at 9:49 a.m.
A Back-to-School Task Force has been created to help guide the Port Chester School District’s reopening in the fall. The group will be comprised of community representatives who will be divided into subgroups for each school building level.
Those interested will have to commit to several planning sessions that will occur online this month.
The first meeting is set for Monday, June 8 at 4 p.m. To participate, fill out the interest survey at portchesterschools.org.
The task force will be split into five groups which will focus on physical re-entry, instruction, medical, mental health and extracurricular activities. They will be divided into subgroups for the elementary, middle and high school levels.
The task force will work on identifying potential issues, brainstorming ideas to address those problems, locating the challenges for each of these ideas and propose the best possible recommendations.
Tentative future meetings can be found on the school’s website.
