Red, yellow and green flashing on Irving again
March 5, 2020 at 9:59 a.m.
Over a month later, the streetlights at the four-way intersections at Irving Avenue and North Pearl Street, as well as Irving Avenue and Poningo Street, are back to flashing their red, yellow and green signals.
The lights went out due to a short in the control box that could not be readily repaired, according to Port Chester Village Manager Christopher Steers. Bid responses to fix the lights came in at the end of January and the work was awarded to the lowest bidder, Verde Electric Maintenance Corp., at the Port Chester Board of Trustees meeting on Feb. 26. Repair of the traffic light at South Regent and West William streets, which was hit and knocked out by a truck, was tacked onto the bid award.
