With Port Chester Superintendent of Schools Dr. Edward Kliszus retiring at the end of the 2020-21 school year, the school district has begun its search to hire his replacement.
Southern Westchester BOCES District Superintendent Harold A. Coles was chosen by the school board to act as the district’s search consultant and monitor the process, according to a letter from Board of Education President Thomas Corbia.
The Board has been working with Coles to create plans for the search as well as a profile of the ideal candidate for the district. To garner community feedback, a survey has been created for participants to submit their opinions on the matter.
“The Board values your input and wants to provide an opportunity for all the stakeholder groups to share their views on the characteristics needed in a new district leader, as well as your thoughts on district aspirations and goals over the coming years,” the letter states.
To complete the survey, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YZN6CGX and submit responses by end of the business day on Monday, Nov. 16. Answers to the survey will remain anonymous and kept confidential.
A timeline for the search process will be posted to the district’s website soon.
