Active COVID-19 cases are on the rise again in the Villages of Port Chester and Rye Brook after seemingly starting to stabilize last week.

As of press time Wednesday, Jan. 6, there were 360 active cases in Port Chester, according to Westchester County data—a substantial increase compared to the 320 cases reported a week ago. There has been a cumulative total of 3,041 infections.

In Rye Brook, there were 96 active COVID-19 cases reported Wednesday night, an uptick from the 93 infections last week. The Village has seen a total of 589 cases.

The county’s COVID-19 dashboard updates infection statistics throughout the day. To check up on the data, visit wcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/280339d96db14efd9cc304dba0f3a71d.

The Westchester Medical Center has been bringing a mobile coronavirus testing site to Port Chester for several weeks to help track and control the rising number of infections. It is anticipated to continue visiting on Sundays and Wednesdays until cases start to decrease in the municipality.

The testing site will be at Segunda Iglesia Pentecostal Juan 3:16 at 58 Poningo St. on Sunday, Jan. 10, and Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments must be made in advance by calling 914-202-4530 or going to wmchealthnetwork.tfaforms.net/256.
