The eyesore of a building that was once Rosalina Market at 167 Irving Ave. and had been destroyed by fire about a decade ago was finally demolished and turned into a pile of rubble on June 12.
The property is owned by the St. Katherine Group which is located nearby in the Simons Building at 181 Westchester Ave. That development group also owns 30 Broad St. which is slated to be torn down to make way for a modern building that will house a brewpub and residential units in the coming weeks.
The Irving Avenue property was sold by Huguette Sinis to the current owner on Oct. 17, 2019 for $350,000, according to Town of Rye assessment records. The 2021 tentative assessment is $306,700.
According to Curt LaValla, acting director of the Port Chester Department of Planning & Economic Development, no development plans have been submitted for the site.
