Thanksgiving Day is Thurs., Nov. 25. Government offices in the Town of Rye and the Villages of Port Chester and Rye Brook will be closed Thursday & Friday as will the Blind Brook and Port Chester schools which will have early dismissal on Wed., Nov. 24. Most banks and the post office will be closed on Nov. 25 and there will be no mail delivery. The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library will be open 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Wed., Nov. 24 and closed Nov. 25.

In Port Chester, Thursday garbage & recycling collections will be Wed.; Mon., Tues. & Fri. collections are unchanged. No bulk or green waste collection this week. In Rye Brook, Thursday collections move to Wednesday; Mon., Tues. & Fri. collections are unchanged. No green waste collection this week. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Blind Brook High School will present their fall drama “Clue: High School Edition” Fri. & Sat., Nov. 19 & 20 at 7 p.m. All ticketing will be done online at https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/58156. If available, tickets can be purchased the evening of the performance at the box office one hour before showtime—cash or check only. All tickets are $15.

Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester, will present the Clay Holiday Market, thru Dec. 24. Shop in-person or online for functional pottery and ceramic sculpture featuring ceramic ornaments, dinnerware, mugs, serving pieces and more. There will be an opening event Sat., Nov. 20, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. that will include winter treats for kids (hot chocolate & candy canes) and get-creative kids’ clay activity table. Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester will present Make A Thanksgiving Turkey with Polymer Clay Sat., Nov. 20, 2-3 p.m. for ages 5-8 and 3-4 p.m. for ages 9-12. Instructor is Terry Taylor. Children will use polymer clay to make simple shapes and put them together to form a cute sculpture. No experience necessary. $25 per person and Family Wheel Night for ages 10+ Sat., Nov. 20, Dec. 4 & 18, 6-8 p.m. Have fun with the whole family in this one-time class for parents, kids, tweens and teens interested in learning to use the potter’s wheel. Life Chain, a peaceful, prayerful, presence for unborn babies and their mothers, will take place Sun., Nov. 21, 2-3:30 p.m. at the entrance to Kohl’s Shopping Plaza, Boston Post Road, Port Chester. Tamarack Tower Foundation’s Annual Turkey Trot, a 3.5 run/1.7 walk, will take place Thurs., Nov. 25. Registration: 8:30-9:15 a.m. Event will begin at 9:30 a.m. from Port Chester High School stadium side at the flagpole. Refreshments and prizes. Pre-register by Nov. 19. $20 adults; $10 students. The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library has announced that registration is open for their November Grab and Go Thanksgiving Craft. Pickup will be thru Nov. 23. Sign up by emailing [email protected] or by calling 914/939-6710 and Press 3 to pick up a Grab and Go turkey craft. Children will be given a bag with all the pieces they need to make the crafts.

The Westchester County Clerk’s mobile office is coming to Port Chester in the parking lot at 222 Grace Church St. Tues., Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the purpose of issuing passports.

Health Insurance Navigation Help, offered by the Westchester County Department of Health, takes place at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library Tuesdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. by appointment only. Free. Yoga in the Park with Jamie Maldonado at Crawford Park Mansion, 122 N. Ridge St., Rye Brook takes place every Sun., 9:30-10:30 a.m. All levels welcome.
