Kiwanis Club needs help with Thanksgiving Dinner Drive

The Kiwanis Club of Port Chester/Rye Brook invites you to participate in their Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner Basket Drive.
The plan is to get local clubs, groups, organizations, families and even individuals to donate a Thanksgiving meal to the Salvation Army. The Club would like to provide over 300 meals this Thanksgiving. They would be honored to have you join us in helping families who are less fortunate enjoy one of our nation’s most venerated holidays.
They need your help to make sure they take care of families that need support. What better way to do this than at Thanksgiving? It is a great way to give thanks and give back.
This year the Salvation Army has provided for over 300 families with 500,000 lbs. of food. The Kiwanis wants to help them out by contributing in some way to help our most needy.
Here is what you need to do: Note all the food to be provided and put it into paper bags and drop it off at the Salvation Army between Nov. 8 and Monday evening, Nov. 22. The Kiwanis Club will take care of the rest. The Salvation Army address is 36 Bush Ave., Port Chester. You can contact Mark Santora at (914) 417-7112 for further information.
Monetary donations will be much appropriated this year because of COVID-19 issues. The Kiwanis can buy gift cards as a safety precaution or do the shopping for you. Checks can be made out to the Kiwanis Club of Port Chester/Rye Brook and sent to PO Box 45, Port Chester, NY 10573. Families who qualify will be vetted through the Salvation Army.
