Playland Park welcomes back patrons for rides, food and fun thru Labor Day. The nearly 3,000-piece painting installation is a memorial to those lost on Sept. 11, 2001. Reflecting on the size of this tragedy with one painting for each person lost, it is a personal study of the tremendous ramifications of this day in our collective history. Pelham Art Center at 155 Fifth Ave. is displaying a new public art installation. The Conversation Sculpture, by Brooklyn artist Musa Hixson. It is a 9ft x 6ft x 6ft steel sculpture that mimics a blooming flower with three seats enclosed in its frame. The interactive piece intends to facilitate new connections and encourage people to think differently about public space. Katonah Museum of Art, 134 Jay St., Katonah, will present Cladogram: 2^nd KMA International Juried Biennial thru Sept. 19. Exhibit brings together artists working in written and visual media. A cladogram is a branching diagram that shows relationships among different species and their history of evolution. Similarly, this exhibition will include work that engages with personal or family history, explores the ways in which historical objects and ideas are organized, categorized, and displayed, and challenges the dominant narrative of history and art history. Westchester Parks Foundation and Westchester County Parks announced an expanded Bicycle Sundays season for 2021. The program takes place every Sunday through October except Labor Day and Columbus Day weekends. It is presented by Westchester County Parks and sponsored by the Westchester Parks Foundation and its partners through generous donations from co-presenting sponsors Con Edison and NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital. Danny Cycles returns as the exclusive bicycle shop. The annual event welcomes bicyclists, skaters, joggers, and walkers and runs from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers – a round-trip of 13.1 miles. There are many points of entry, exit and parking along the way. The event is free to the public.

The Greenwich Historical Society in Cos Cob is presenting Beautiful Work: The Art of Greenwich Gardens and Landscapes thru Sept. 5. Cultivated for generations by farmers and agricultural laborers in the closing years of the 19^th century, many of Greenwich’s planting fields and wood lots were transformed into extravagantly designed gardens by wealthy New Yorkers seeking the ‘country life’ away from the city. Storm King Art Center, 1 Museum Rd, New Windsor, NY is presenting a site-specific installation of Rashid Johnson’s 2019 sculptural work The Crisis on view thru Nov. 8. The installation marks the first US presentation of the artwork, which the artist has adapted to respond directly to Storm King’s native landscape. The work—a 16-foot-tall, yellow pyramidal steel structure—is set within a field of native grasses, which Storm King has worked to reintroduce to its landscape and cultivate over the last 25 years.
