Music in the Mansion at Crawford Park in Rye Brook Sat., Sept. 18 & Sat., Nov. 13. Sept. 18 will feature Steve Forbert with guest Julie Corbalis at 8 p.m. Due to COVID restrictions, this show will be held outdoors in the picnic pavilion. This concert is rescheduled from Apr. 18, 2020. Tickets from that date will be honored. Tickets for this date are $30 in advance; $35 at the door. The Mexican flag will be raised in Port Chester’s Liberty Square to celebrate Independence Day on Fri., Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. All are invited.

Sustainable Port Chester Alliance will host local author Elise Lemire Tues., Sept. 21, 7-8 p.m. at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library on International Peace Day. She will talk about her new book “Battle Green Vietnam: The 1971 March on Concord, Lexington, and Boston” which recounts the heroic efforts of the organization Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Rye Brook Recreation has announced that registration is open for their 3rd-6th grade girls’ outdoor volleyball clinic. It will take place Sat., Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 at Rye Hills Park, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Fee: $75. The program is set up to introduce the girls to the sport of volleyball and develop skills in footwork, passing, setting, serving and attacking. No experience required. Even if tickets are sold out on the website, they can often be bought through a second hand seller or at the box office.
