Port Chester residents struggling to recover from Tropical Storm Ida will have two resources available to them this Saturday, Sept. 18—by means of financial guidance and garbage removal.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be a community meeting for information and support at the Rye Town Courthouse at 350 N. Main St., adjacent to the Port Chester police station. Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Westchester Department of Social Services and the Red Cross will be there to help residents through any questions.

There continue to be ongoing FEMA disaster recovery centers in Yonkers—at the Grinton I. Will Library, 500 Central Park Ave.—and the Mamaroneck Village Court at 169 Mt. Pleasant Ave. The centers are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Anyone can register with FEMA online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by phone at 800-621-3362.

On Saturday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., the Port Chester Department of Public Works yard on Fox Island Road will also be open for an extended day of garbage drop-off. Any trash items will be accepted, including bulk.
