St. Paul’s National Historic Site in Mt. Vernon will present Dr. Eugene Boesfh, author and archeologist Sat., Oct. 2. He will explore the history, culture and legacy of the Lenape, native peoples of St. Paul’s area and author & historian Dr. Laura Chmielewski Sat., Oct. 9. She will explore the impact and significance of the Great Awakening of the 1730s, a pivotal development in the religious history of colonial America. Westport Country Playhouse’s “From Concept to Curtain” virtual documentary series is presenting “Telling Mlima's Tale” on their Playhouse’s website, westportplayhouse.org and YouTube channel (WestportPlayhouse), free-of-charge. Through conversations with playwright, director and artists, “Telling Mlima’s Tale” will examine the powerful visual scope and sweep and vibrant theatricality of the Playhouse’s 2019 award-winning production, “Mlima’s Tale,” written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning Lynn Nottage, and directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director. Telling Mlima’s Tale” will examine how the team worked together to create the world of the play, how they handled their greatest challenges in the piece, and how they collaborated to shape the stage production. The 30-minute video includes short clips and photos from “Mlima’s Tale.

The Neuberger Museum of Art at Purchase College is offering Wellness Wednesdays to provide a bit of relaxation during these unprecedented times. DIY Shadow Puppet Theatre video, the first in PAC’s Bringing Backstage Forward series, Purchase PAC Lighting Designer Peter Wylie shows you how to make your own shadow puppet theatre, complete with cool lighting effects. A super fun project for all ages! (Ask an adult to help with cutting things out.) We'd love to see what you come up with. The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) has launched a mobile app for smart devices to provide visitors and prospective visitors useful information about the variety of destinations and activities available throughout the Empire State’s parks and historic sites. The New York State Parks Explorer App is a free, user-friendly resource for visitors to plan outdoor adventures while staying connected to long-time favorite parks and sites. Users can learn more about top destinations and discover new must-see locations with rotating curated content, and will enjoy quick access to park information, including directions, hours, amenities, fees and rates, trail maps, helpful know-before-you-go details, and the ability to receive important updates and alerts.

Visitors can also link directly to online camping reservations and easily access select State Parks’ social media channels to share their experiences.
