A special event, Gaining Independence from Hunger in Israel: Reflections on Feeding a Nation with Rescued Food will take place Sun., May 1, 8-9 p.m. via Zoom. Learn about the serious and growing issue of food insecurity in Israel. The program will be led by Lauren Yoked, Executive Director of American Friends of Leket Israel and facilitated by Rabbi Ben Goldberg of Congregation KTI, Port Chester. The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library is offering English Classes with Westchester Community College virtually for Level 3 & 4, Tues., Wed. & Fri., June 14-Aug. 4, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Placement exam will be Thurs., June 2 at 9 a.m. Evening classes for Level 3 & 4 will be Tues., Wed. & Thurs. on the same dates from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Placement exam will be Wed., June 1 at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $22 via credit card at the time of registration.
