Port Chester Recreation will host the 33rd Annual Port Chester Day Sat., Aug. 27, 12-8:45 p.m. at Lyon Park. There will be food trucks including Walter’s Hot Dogs, Latusion, Los 3 Tacos, A Perfect Mix, Longford’s Ice Cream, MAC’s Food Truck and The Italian Club Pizza Frette. Anastasia Marco will sing The Star Spangled Banner at noon; Aztec Dances will perform 12:30-1:30 p.m.; Tony “C” Natra will perform Frank Sinatra tunes 2:30-3 p.m.; Showtime Dance Band will perform 3-4 p.m.; Rico Dos Anjos Tae Kwon Do demo will be 4-4:30 p.m.; the band Mass Con Fusion will perform 4:30-5 p.m.; singer David Tovar will perform 5:30-6 p.m.; the Annie Mash Trio will perform 6-7 p.m.; John & Ann (folk, dance, pop) will perform 7-7:30 p.m. and All Revved Up (Meatloaf tribute band) will perform 7:30-8:45 p.m. There will also be kids’ activities including free children’s rides from 12-5 p.m.; Clay Art Center activities, Home Depot kids’ crafts, Gaga Ball, Bubble Bus (12:30-3:30 p.m.) and face painting. The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library, 1 Haseco Ave., Port Chester is offering several programs this summer including a Summer Reading Program. Children of all ages can visit the library to sign up. They will be given a bingo board to record they books they read. Once they get bingo, they can come back to the library with their bingo board for a prize; Summer Storywalk thru Sept. 2. Enjoy walking around the lawn and reading “Smiley Shark” by Ruth Galloway. Rye Brook Recreation will host the 5th Drive-In-Movie Under the Stars Fri., Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at 1100 King St. (Kingsbrook Office Park, formerly Rechson). Rye Brook Recreation is presenting an Outdoor Ninja Class hosted by The Grit Ninja Wed., Sept. 14, 21, 28, Oct. 12, 19, 26 & Nov. 2. Grades K-1 will meet 3:45-4:35 p.m.; Grades 2-5 will meet 4:45-5:35 p.m. Aspiring ninjas will climb, swing, jump and run on their ever-changing equipment which includes a rock wall traverse, monkey bars, grip gauntlet, cliffhanger, balance courses, warped walls and more. $275. All shows at The Capitol Theatre and Garcia’s in Port Chester during the height of the pandemic have been canceled or postponed. Following is the current information from The Capitol: Rescheduled: Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, Mon., Sept. 26 (originally Jan. 24, 2022) and Steve Vai, Thurs., Oct. 27 (originally Feb. 26, 2022). Yet to be rescheduled: Rival Sons, Ripe. Canceled shows: Bella Fleck & The Fleckstones; Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Lake Street Drive, Bombay Bicycle Club, Michael Franti, Sunrise Day Camp Benefit, Billy Strings, Saving Grace, The Fab Faux and Devon Allman Band & Samantha Fish Band (previously June 17, 2022). Refund at point of purchase. Original tickets will be honored on the new date and tickets for all performances can be purchased at www.ticketfly.com.

Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester will present The Family Portrait in the gallery and online Thurs., Sept. 1-Oct. 15. There will be an opening reception Thurs., Sept. 15, 6-8 p.m. The exhibition explores the family unit in contemporary culture and society. The exhibition presents work from artists drawn from across the US and includes emerging and established ceramic artists.
