The Town of Rye will host National Independence Day Juneteenth, Sat., June 18, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the African American Cemetery, 215 North St., Rye. The ceremony will be followed by a service project. Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. and honoring the culture and achievements of African Americans.

The Village of Rye Brook will hold a 40th birthday celebration Sat., June 18, 12-4 p.m. at Crawford Park, 122 N. Ridge St. They are looking for adult volunteers from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. to help grill for this celebration. To sign up email [email protected]. The Port Chester Rye Brook Public Library, 1 Haseco Ave., Port Chester will offer a Summer Reading Program beginning Mon., June 27. Children of all ages can visit the library to sign up for this program. Children will be given a bingo board to record they books they read. Rye Brook Recreation will offer a 6-week Summer Day Camp and Teen Travel Camp, July 5-Aug. 12, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Registration is open. Day Camp--$1150 for first child; additional child is $900. Travel Camp: $1,900. You can send your child/children for as many weeks as you like also. Cerebral Palsy Westchester, 1186 King St., Rye Brook will offer the Jimmy Vejar Summer Day Camp June 27-Aug. 12. It is an inclusive camp for children, teens and young adults with all abilities, ages 5-21. Campers will take part in a variety of activities including swimming, sports, arts & crafts, festive barbeques, field trips and special events.
