The Town of Rye will host National Independence Day Juneteenth, Sat., June 18, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the African American Cemetery, 215 North St., Rye. The ceremony will be followed by a service project. Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. and honoring the culture and achievements of African Americans.
The Village of Rye Brook will hold a 40th birthday celebration Sat., June 18, 12-4 p.m. at Crawford Park, 122 N.
