Friends of Rye Nature Center, 873 Boston Post Rd., Rye is hosting an Old-Fashioned Winter’s Afternoon Sat., Mar. 5, 12-3 p.m. Enjoy log sawing, archery, maple sugaring, live raptor shows, fire-roasted marshmallows, winter-themed carnival games, a petting zoo and fun crafts like decorating candles, walking sticks and a plant pot. The Greenwich Historical Society will host a special guided tour of the Bush-Holley House at 47 Strickland Ave., Cos Cob Sat., Mar. 12 at 12 p.m. The tour will be centered around the stories of Josephine Holley and her daughter Constant Holley MacRae, resourceful and entrepreneurial women who ran a bustling boardinghouse for artists, writers and other cultural luminaries while engaging in their own personal and artistic pursuits. This hour-long focused tour will detail events and elements of the Holley women’s lives in the Progressive Era, including their business dealings, participation in local civic organizations and support of women’s suffrage, and examine what life and motherhood were like for women in Cos Cob in the early 20th century. $20 for non-members. White Plains Public Library at 100 Martine Ave. is offering the AARP tax service every Mon. and Tues., 10 a.m.–3 p.m., through Apr. 12. This service is available by appointment only; no walk-ins. All forms must be picked up and completed prior to the first scheduled appointment. You will not be seen if forms are not already completed. ArtsWestchester’s Teen Tuesdays & Thursdays are back. Youth can join on a Tuesday or Thursday from 4:30-6 p.m. to participate in new creative and fun art-making activities led by professional teaching artists. Workshops are temporarily being held next door to ArtsWestchester at the White Plains City Center, 3rd floor at 19 Mamaroneck Ave. For the safety of participants, social distancing and masks will be enforced regardless of vaccination status. Westport County Playhouse at 25 Powers Court, Westport, Ct., has announced its summer Joanne Woodward Internship Program for emerging arts professionals. Internships in stage management, props/scenic painting, wardrobe, marketing, company management, education, and development will run from May 28-Aug. 21. While on campus, interns work directly with senior staff and gain crucial on-the-job experience in a vibrant and innovative professional theater. Weekly intern seminars feature a variety of guest speakers, including Playhouse staff members, visiting designers and artists, commercial producers, and more. Interns reside in provided housing for the length of their term; each intern will have their own room. The residence is located approximately eight miles from the Playhouse in Fairfield, Connecticut. Transportation to work is the responsibility of the intern but travel stipends may be available. The Katonah Museum of Art at 13 Jay St. will present Constant Carnival: The Haas Brothers in Context on view Sun., Mar. 13-June 26. The exhibit explores the work of contemporary artists Simon and Nikolai Haas within the art historical tradition of the carnivalesque. Pelham Art Center at 155 Fifth Ave. is displaying a new public art installation, “The Conversation Sculpture,” by Brooklyn artist Musa Hixson. It is a 9 ft. x 6 ft. x 6 ft. steel sculpture that mimics a blooming flower with three seats enclosed in its frame. The interactive piece intends to facilitate new connections and encourage people to think differently about public space.
