Early voting for the General Election is taking place thru Sun., Nov. 6 at the Rye Brook Firehouse, 940 King St. Hours: Nov. 4, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Nov. 5 & 6, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Election Day is Tues., Nov. 8, 6 a.m.-9 p.m. at your regular voting location. All registered voters are eligible to participate in the General Election. Check your registration status at https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/

KTI, 575 King St., Port Chester, will hold a Tag Sale, Sun., Nov. 6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Cash only. Sale will include household items, dishes, used clothing, furniture, small appliances, knick-knacks, small electronics, bicycles, toys, books and much more. 914/939-1004.

Veterans Day (originally known as Armistice Day) is observed annually Nov. 11 to honor military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces (who were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable). Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. At the urging of major U.S. veteran organizations, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. Port Chester and Blind Brook schools will be closed as will government offices in the Town of Rye and the villages of Port Chester and Rye Brook, the U.S. Post Office (no mail delivery) most banks and the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library. In Rye Brook there will be no garbage, recycling, bulk pickup Fri., Nov. 11. Friday collections move to Thursday; no green waste pickup this week. In Port Chester there is no change in collections this week.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will take place Sun., Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and North Regent Street, Port Chester. After the ceremony, everyone is invited to the Port Chester Post 93 American Legion Hall at 78 Pearl St. for food and beverages.

Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester, will offer Advanced Ceramic Jewelry Tuesdays thru Dec. 13, 2-5 p.m. Ages 17+. Students will learn to make unique ceramic jewelry components including necklaces, earrings and other wearable art. $367. No experience necessary.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Mon., Nov. 14, 12-5 p.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 761 King St., Rye Brook. To make an appointment, go to RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS. A $10 e-gift card will be given to those who come to give blood.
