Turkey Trot on tap for Thanksgiving morning
November 17, 2022 at 6:27 a.m.
The Tamarack Tower Foundation’s annual Turkey Trot will be held on Thursday, Nov. 24 (Thanksgiving) at the Port Chester High School stadium flagpole.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., the race/run begins at 9:30 a.m.
This is a 1.7-mile run/walk which begins at the flagpole and continues onto College Avenue to Haines Boulevard—around Haines Boulevard—in front of Park Avenue School bearing right onto Barton Place, right onto Neuton Avenue and ending back at the flagpole. Runners and walkers will cover the course twice.
The Tamarack Tower Foundation is a tax-exempt organization whose sole purpose is to support the students of the Port Chester School District. In the past TTF has made generous contributions to the schools due in part to donations and fundraisers.
This popular Thanksgiving staple draws a large crowd each year. Participants are not only community members but also alumni of PCHS who return on this holiday to spend time with relatives and friends. Last year it attracted nearly 300 participants.
In addition, each of the four Port Chester elementary schools hold their own version of a turkey trot the week before Thanksgiving and raise money for the foundation.
