The Neuberger Museum of Art at Purchase College, 735 Anderson Hill Rd. is presenting a new retrospective solo exhibit by Nicolas De Jesus thru Dec. 23. It features works by the visual storyteller—his monumental colorful paintings, intricate etchings and large banners that once billowed above the streets in his home in Mexico. The David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center at Pocantico, 200 Lake Rd., Tarrytown, will present its first exhibition in the gallery, Inspired Encounters: Women Artists and the Legacies of Modern Art thru Mar. 19. The exhibition is comprised of 43 artworks and pairs pieces by a dozen groundbreaking women artists of the postwar period with new commissions of contemporary art. The Donald Gallery at the South Presbyterian Church, 343 S. Broadway, Dobbs Ferry will feature the exhibit, If You Are Quiet: An Artistic Journey in Joy, Discovery and Nature, thru Sun., Oct. 23. The works of Westchester County’s Kathleen McCarthy-Udoff, an intergenerational theater educator inspired to launch a fine arts career in her 50’s to “quiet the world a little,” will be featured. SUNY Westchester Community College, 75 Grasslands Rd., Valhalla will present The Sculpture of Ronald Bladen at its art gallery thru Nov. 30. The exhibit is open to the public. Pelham Art Center at 155 Fifth Ave. is displaying a new public art installation, “The Conversation Sculpture,” by Brooklyn artist Musa Hixson. It is a 9 ft. x 6 ft. x 6 ft. steel sculpture that mimics a blooming flower with three seats enclosed in its frame. The interactive piece intends to facilitate new connections and encourage people to think differently about public space.
