ART 10573, the Port Chester Council for the Arts annual art show and sale, will be held Sun., Oct. 23, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Crawford Mansion Community Center, 122 N. Ridge St., Rye Brook. Clay Art Center, 40 Beech St., Port Chester, will present “Winged Women” sculptures by CAC artist Susan Wortman, a Breast Cancer Awareness Month special event, with items available for purchase in the gallery and online thru Oct. 31. After a breast cancer diagnosis, Susan began this series of hand-built porcelain sculptures to heal from her cancer experience and adjust to a mastectomy with reconstruction. Representing health, strength and hope, the 50 sculptures of Susan’s Winged Women series reflect the diversity and beauty of our imperfect bodies. Fifty percent of the sale of each work will be donated to Cancer Support Team, a Westchester based non-profit that provides services to cancer patients and their families.
